Advertising Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Democrawonk is a liberal political satire and commentary site. This policy describes our current advertising setup and the standards we will apply if we introduce paid placements.

Our Current Setup

No paid advertisements, sponsored articles, or affiliate marketing placements are currently running on Democrawonk. We have not enabled an advertising network, advertising pixels, or advertising cookies. Links to reporting sources and our social profiles are provided for readers and are not paid endorsements.

Clear Labels For Paid Content

If we introduce advertising or sponsorships, we will identify paid placements with clear labels such as “Advertisement” or “Sponsored.” Sponsored articles will identify the sponsor and disclose the paid relationship near the beginning of the article. If we use affiliate links, we will disclose that we may earn a commission near the relevant links. Paid content will not be presented as independent reporting.

Editorial Independence

Advertisers will not control our independent editorial coverage, purchase favorable treatment, or buy the removal of criticism. Our political perspective and sense of humor belong to Democrawonk. Accepting an advertisement would not mean we endorse every claim, product, or position of its sponsor.

Advertising Standards

We reserve the right to reject or remove any placement that conflicts with our standards or the interests of our readers. We will not accept deceptive claims, scams, malware, impersonation, hateful or discriminatory material, or ads disguised as breaking news or site navigation. Advertisers must identify themselves accurately and be prepared to substantiate factual claims.

We will not accept advertising for tobacco products, firearms, unsubstantiated weight-loss products, or speculative cryptocurrency schemes. We may decline other campaigns based on their content, credibility, or fit with the site.

Reader Privacy

The current site does not use advertising technology to profile readers or target ads across websites. Before introducing advertising tools that change how reader data is handled, we will update our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy and provide any applicable privacy choices.

Inquiries And Concerns

For advertising inquiries or concerns about a placement, use our Contact Us form. An inquiry does not guarantee acceptance; placements require a separate agreement.
